Free webinars focus on water issues

Online program aims to help growers with water quality and recycling issues

A new series of free webinars is being offered to assist growers in managing water quality and recycling irrigation water. The series consists of four 30-minute live presentations that feature both new research and practical guidelines. All of the webinars are scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
Aug. 18: Water treatment technologies and recycling presented by Paul Fisher, Univ. of Fla.
Sept. 17: Biology of waterborne pathogens presented by Rob Wick, Univ. of Mass.
Nov. 17: Ecological approaches to water treatment (slow sand filtration; constructed wetlands) presented by Loren Oki, Univ. of Calif.
Jan. 20: Nutritional aspects of water quality presented by Bill Argo, Blackmore Co.
The webinars are co-sponsored by the Water Education Alliance for Horticulture, OFA, Society of American Florists, Horticulture Research Institute and Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association.
