McCaffrey's Markets and BrightFarms have agreed to build a greenhouse farm directly at one of McCaffrey's grocery stores in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. BrightFarms will finance, build and operate the greenhouse, which will grow “Ultra Local” produce for McCaffrey’s. McCaffrey’s will purchase the produce from the greenhouse – items such as lettuces, tomatoes and herbs – as per a long-term produce purchase agreement.
“McCaffrey's has built its grocery business by knowing their customers better than anyone else," said Paul Lightfoot, CEO of BrightFarms. “Demand is strongly increasing for locally grown, healthy and sustainable produce, and we are delighted to help McCaffrey's meet the demand.”

BrightFarms designs, finances, builds and operates hydroponic greenhouse farms, at or near, grocery retailers. McCaffrey's is a privately owned, supermarket company based in Langhorne Pa., with stores in Princeton, N.J., West Windsor, N.J. and in Yardley, Pa.
