All-America Selections honors industry contributors

AAS presents awards to Todd Perkins and Nona Koivula

During its annual summer meeting, All-America Selections presented the 2010 Breeder Cup Award to flower breeder Todd Perkins. He has been a breeder for nearly 25 years at Syngenta Flowers, formerly Goldsmith Seeds. Varieties developed by Perkins include: Angelonia Carita; Aquilegia Origami; Cleome Sparkler; Coreopsis Cory; Pansy Mammoth; Rudbeckia TigerEye Gold; Salvia Velocity; Viola Penny and Zinnia Swizzle, Magellan and Zowie!.
The organization presented its Medallion of Honor to AAS emeritus executive director Nona Koivula. She had led AAS along with the National Garden Bureau for over 25 years.
